ART DECO CIGARETTE CASE ~ ANTIQUE ~ 900 SILVER ~ YELLOW/BLUE ENAMELED

THIS BEAUTY HAS A  SMALL SECRET ~ The enameling process is the Guilloche’ type where a pattern is cut into the metal before the glass enamel is applied.  At certain angles, this case will show a pattern which looks somewhat zigzags in vertical lines over a fine fabric.
The bright yellow is framed inside a narrow black line and then the blue.  The lid is in perfect condition.  The bottom shows very mild scuffs and, oops,  a bit of a square white reflection.  The chain is perfect.  The closure is button, spring loaded and you can see a bit of the bar which makes it spring, just inside the  edge.   The finish on the inside of the case is a silky, matte golden color.  The marks on the edge are comprised of 1150 and three ‘royal’ hallmarks next to 900.  Size is  3 1/2 x 2 5/8 x 1/2 inch.  137 grams of 900 silver.  About 4  1/3 ounces.  An exquisite case in great condition.
Yes, it is possible to update by removing the chain.
